Puma trainers released its first shoe in 1948, the Puma Atom was born. The now famous Puma signature form stripe saw the light of day in 1958. Through out the 1960's the intense battle between Puma and Adidas began as both brands fought tooth and nail to get their footwear on to as many world class athletes as possible. Pele wore Puma football boots when he took his team to their second World Cup victory.
