Doc Martens boots were introduced in the United Kingdom in 1960. Well known style 1460 doc martens is still in production today. It has special eight-eyelet, cherry-red, Nappa leather design. Doc Martens boots were very popular among some British punk rock band and New Wave musicians in the 1970's and then fans of those musician started wearing them. The boots and shoes then became popular among youth.
