Fila
Not many brands can boast of the kind of heritage and linkage to sports and achievements around the world, than Fila can. Founded by the Fila brothers in Biella, Italy in 1911, Fila has been worn and adorned by so many famous achievers of the 90’s.in 1973, Bjorn Borg introduced cotton rib shorts to the green at Wimbledon. During the 70s and 80s, Ingemar Stenmark chased his own record 86 titles in downhill skiing, adorning Fila all the way from Innsbruck to Lake Placid! The legendary Tom Watson was a huge fan of Fila when he won the Master’s title. And in 1978, Fila reached the top of the world, quite literally, when it accompanied Rienhold Messner to the peaks of Everest in 1978! Such heritage has ensured that the brand has planted its foothold for many years to come. A favourite of terrace lads in the 80’s, today’s Fila is mostly about iconic blasts from the past! The Fila Terrinda suits, velour type tracksuits, are still as popular and sought after today as they were back in the 80s. The production of films such as the Business and The Firm has seen a re-emergence of interest in Fila and it still is a classic in the making!
